Reverim is built by Dan Gardner, MD, a practising psychiatrist and psychoanalyst. It is a product of ExpertFocus LLC.

Why it exists

It started as a tool for a problem in my own practice. Notes accumulate for years — sessions, supervision, reading, half-finished thinking — and there is no realistic way to find anything in them. I knew I had written something useful about working with silence. I had no idea where.

The obvious tools were the ones we can't use. Nothing carrying clinical material should go near a cloud chatbot or a hosted notes app. So the first requirement wasn't a feature, it was a constraint: everything runs on the clinician's own machine, or it doesn't ship.

What it refuses to do

The exclusions took as much work as the features. Reverim will not diagnose, will not advise on treatment or management, and will not produce a formulation of its own. It reports what you wrote, attributed to you.

Those boundaries are enforced by checks that run on every answer, not merely requested in the model's instructions — because on a small local model, instructions alone did not hold the line. Building a tool for colleagues means the failure modes are the part you have to get right.

Who it's for

Any mental health provider working with their own written records — CBT, DBT, family and systemic work, counselling, psychiatry, social work, psychodynamic practice. Nothing in it assumes a modality.

Where it is

Early, honestly. It works and it is in daily use, but it is a young product, it is not yet code-signed, and it is Windows-only for now. If that matters to you, say so — early users shape what gets built next.
